Position: Commercial Manager

Roles:
1. Cost accountant
2. Procurement for plant-level purchases
3. Labour management
4. Other commercial activity management
Reporting to: Plant manager, HO Finance Head
Reportees: Accounts, Consumption officer, Admin, Stores, Dispatch

Responsibilities:
The Commercial Manager will be accountable for:
1. Leading commercial activities like accounts, daily material consumption reporting, purchase, stores, dispatch logistics, administration and IT staff for general accounting, plant-level payables, order entry (for machinery and spares, raw materials, consumables), customer invoicing, cost accounting, GRNs, budgeting, logistics management for timely and accurate customer dispatches
2. Safeguarding all plant assets by developing and enforcing internal control systems for raw materials, in-process and finished goods inventory, fixed assets like plant building, computers and furniture, machinery and spares, trucks, all cash and finances at factory
3. Accurately implementing taxes like GST (knowledge and working of prior tax systems like Excise, Service Tax, CST, VAT required to streamline past finances)
4. Overseeing and conducting local purchases of spares and consumables
5. Liaising with plant technical and production managers and corporate (HO) finance staff, tax-related government authorities and external vendors to appropriately fulfill responsibilities
6. Implementing plant-related regulatory compliances and ensuring adherence to HR policies for plant staff and workers
7. Implementing staff payroll
8. Ensuring smooth operations and discipline by existing staff, workers (plant, casual and contract) from an HR perspective
9. Housekeeping
10. Liaising with corporate (HO) administrative and HR staff, plant production and maintenance managers, labour contractors, labour, factory and other relevant government authorities for appropriate fulfillment of responsibilities
11. Smoothly coordinating of plant events for staff and workers, management, customer and vendor visits
12. Overseeing new civil projects like building of toilet blocks, compound re-surfacing, repairing of shopfloor etc.

Required Experience:
5-8 years in commercial activities like costing and accounting and labour management at a plant
Skills Required:
1. Strong team leadership skills
2. Strong plant accounting and taxation skills in enterprise systems like Tally, Udyog
3. Strong cost accounting working knowledge and analytical skills
4. Strong administration and labour management skills
5. Strong project management skills
6. Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
7. Strong logistics coordination skills
8. Computer literacy in Tally, Udyog, Word, Excel, Powerpoint (SAP is a plus)

Qualities Required:

Education Requirements:

Minimum B.Com with ideally inter-CA or ICWA (Cost Accounting). HR diploma will be a plus.
