About this role

Position Summary:
As a key member of the regional APAC HR leadership team, this person will play a pivotal role in setting the strategic direction of the local HR function and the development of HR policies and practices. This person will drive HR excellence across the Gurgaon & Mumbai offices. The successful candidate will provide counsel to the local leadership team on talent related issues such as organisational design, compensation, talent acquisition and retention, and leadership development.
Leadership of the APAC HR Team:
Provide leadership, oversight, stewardship and advice on all day-to-day HR matters.
Direct management of local HRBPs and Talent Management
Provide regional input to the global HR policy and in turn, deploy global plans for the country. Advise the global HR leadership on internal and external local requirements, business considerations and lead appropriate resource allocation to ensure smooth implementation across all business lines in India.
Collaborate with the entire spectrum of business and functional lines to deliver people strategies and provide resourcing support.

Business Partnership & Stakeholder Management:
Develop and foster strong working relationships with the regional and global management team to ensure that the regional HR agenda are aligned with BlackRock’s strategic direction.
Partner with local country management to support country-level talent strategies.
Talent & Leadership Development:
A go-to coach for the regional management team to develop their leadership and managerial capabilities.
Actively identify the next generation of leaders in the region and engage with the global team to develop their capabilities while considering regional and global talent priorities.
A vocal champion of fostering a diverse and inclusive workforce at all levels of the regional organisation.

Skills / Experience:
15+ years of demonstrable experience in senior human capital roles with a proven track record in leading transformational talent initiatives.
Qualifications in human resources and/or organization development, related post graduate certifications preferred.
Proven ability in successfully operating in a matrix (geographic / functional) work environment.
Strong business acumen with a commercial approach.
Given the development of our business, Technology, Financial Services or Consulting work experience preferred. A background in Asset Management / Financial Services is not a pre-requisite, but there is an expectation that the individual to have a passion to learn about BlackRock’s business.
Ability to deal with ambiguous and fluid situations.
Individual with strong ability to flex own style to be both strategic and hands-on when required.
Ability to work in partnership with regional and global stakeholders, within the HR function and outside; strong influencing and business partnership skills.
Coaching and facilitation experience / skills is required.
Strong delivery orientation with ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
