Job Summary
At The Bodhgaya Hotel School (TBHS), Front Office (FO) operations include: marketing and sales for rooms and events, reservations and room allocation, travel desk, reception, billing and collection of rooms revenue, bell desk, and night audit.
Academic responsibilities include the creation of a productive and nurturing learning environment, teaching students in both classroom and practical settings; and close supervision and guidance of the practical work of the students so that they develop strong practical skills. A typical week includes lesson planning, assignment setting, grading and report preparation; classroom teaching, assignment and continuous supervision, assessment of practical work, and feedback to students.
Responsibilities and Duties
Front Office Management
Manage the operations of the Front Office (reservations/bookings, correspondence with agencies and guests, check-in and check-out, booking source management, recording and replying to customer feedback, etc).
Manage guest relations and follow up on guests’ complaints, ensuring that service recovery actions are implemented.
Ensure superior quality of the services provided by the Front Office team, implement quality control procedures.
Manage and monitor billing and Front Office Cashier functions.
Manage petty cash for daily purchase needs; maintain petty cash book and supporting documentation.
Manage sales, cash from sales, and stocks of Agragami craft items. Account for, report and deposit cash from sales with general manager. Reconcile unsold stocks. Provide Agragami Delhi with feedback from customers and order replenishments in time.
Academics:
Review and provide inputs to make the curriculum, teaching and assessment systems strong, relevant and up-to-date.
Teach courses, and take classes as per planned schedule. This will include teaching of subjects that are common to students of both Hotel Operations and Food Production.
Prepare and submit lesson plans, instructor’s notes, and quizzes for review, at least a week in advance of the scheduled class.
Prepare and submit mid-course and final examinations at least 2 weeks in advance.
Follow theoretical and practical teaching methods and procedures recommended by TBHS
Select and correctly use teaching methods and material that are appropriate and effective.
Create links between theoretical and practical classes.
Ensure the progressive development of practical skills in students by using a mix of teaching methods such as demonstration, instructor observed proactive, and continuing performance and
Rotate students within departments and functions so as to ensure that each is given equal opportunity to practice and develop his/her skills.
Plan, prepare and conduct student assessments including quizzes, mid-course and end course exams, and practical assessments.
Help to develop and use a consistent & fair grading system for practical and theoretical assessments.
Record, track and report students’ grades systematically, as per required schedule, to the General Manager.
Required Experience, Skills and Qualifications
Experience - 3 to 4 Years
Qualification - IHM Degree or Diploma in Front Office
