Job Description

Indian Institute of Public Health-Hyderabad (IIPHH) has been awarded an ICMR project to study the effects of Ultra Violet Radiation on ocular health in the District of Prakasam. The main aim of the research project is to study the effect of environmental factors and global warming on the prevalence and exacerbation of eye diseases like Cataract, Dry eye, Pterigyium and Vernal kerato conjunctivitis (VKC) in coastal south India. The project will have enumeration of the chosen population clusters, Risk assessment surveys and clinical examination of the persons identified with eye diseases in question like cataract and VKC. This project will be implemented at Prakasam district, Andhra Pradesh. Deliverables:
Undertake field work in the project district.
Liaison with district administration in conduct of Project meetings and reviews.
Attend the requisite meetings at district level.
Supervise the work of subordinate field staff.
Liaison with district officials and community leadership.
Build rapport with communities.
Identify clusters and examination sites within clusters.
Conduct interviews at household and clinic level.
Documentation of Project meetings and trainings.
To prepare monthly reports and case studies from the project districts.
Any other work as assigned Supervisor. Qualification:
Essential
Masters in social work /sociology /MPH Experience:
Essential
Two years’ of experience in surveys and questionnaire administration
Experience of running similar projects. Remarks:
